Another long weekend has passed, and more experiences have been had. Arriving home from work on Friday afternoon, I discovered a new Xbox conveniently stored in our TV stand. Sean purchased it just before leaving for Ottawa and in the upcoming month, he will be modding it into a Linux machine. So Friday evening was spent playing Halo and Amped with some tv-watching added in for good measure. On Saturday, I headed down to Rogers AT&T on Kennedy St to get my cell phone fixed. It hasn’t been working for a couple of weeks, I’ve just been too busy/lazy to take it in. But now it’s going to take them another 2 weeks just to figure out what’s wrong with it. Anyways, after dropping off my phone, I headed into some other electronic stores along the street. After getting KFC for lunch, I took the bus home…atleast I thought it would have taken me home. Instead, it took me towards the Scarborough Town Centre, which is the complete opposite direction from my apartment. I stayed on for the ride and got off near a mall where I browsed around a used CD/DVD store and went into Chapters. After that, I headed out to the bus stop where it was now pouring rain. Finally, after a couple of buses and a 10 minute walk in the rain, I made it back home, safe and sound. Then I took a nap and watched Finding Forrester with Gump, which was a really good movie. Sunday was a relaxing day with church in the morning and then taking it easy in the afternoon and watched Awakenings which stars Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. It was an excellent movie, even though I missed the first half of it.
Yesterday morning was spent cleaning up the kitchen and then cleaning out the fridge which consisted of spoiling fruit and other stuff which must have been there since May. Just before lunch, I decided to head to downtown TO. The buses and subway were all on time which was rather surprising, and I made it to Yonge St within 45 minutes of leaving the apartment. I was expecting that downtown would be packed since it was a holiday, plus with the Caribana festival, but it wasn’t the case. I had lunch at a hotdog stand on Yonge & Gerrard. There’s a small park there with a fountain which was rather peaceful, even though it’s in the heart of downtown. After lunch, I spent a few hours wandering around Sam the Record Man, the Eaton Centre, the CN Tower, and Skydome. Finally, at 3:30 I decided to head home. It took only 45 minutes to get downtown but almost 2 hours to get back home since I had to wait 40 minutes for a bus. Oh well, it was a fun day and an overall good long weekend.
