Get Comics!
I spend a good 10 minutes of every morning looking through my favorite comics at comics.com. I just wrote a php script that is going to save me alot of time. I call it Get Comics! which currently has a list of 28 daily comics that you can display on 1 webpage. This is only version 1.0 since I will be adding some other features such as showing archived strips and also adding more comics to the list. Enjoy!
Feature request: Make a hook so that I can put a link on my page to, say, “Foxtrot” and clicking on that link will take me to Get Comics! with the latest Foxtrot.
Comment by Andrew — November 13, 2003 @ 10:38 pmI’ll add that feature to version 1.1
Comment by Trevor — November 13, 2003 @ 10:55 pmThat’s cool, I like it! it almost makes me wish I knew how to do stuff like that
Comment by Erin — November 14, 2003 @ 10:55 amalmost, but not quite
I could teach ya. Then you’d be a 1337 h4X0r and be able to write some nifty code!
Comment by Trevor — November 14, 2003 @ 10:59 amthanks, but you’d have to be the equivalent to a computer jedi master to be able to teach me anything about computers, I don’t exactly pick it up easily
Comment by Erin — November 14, 2003 @ 2:31 pmWow, I’ve never heard of half of those comics… where do they appear, in Toronto newspapers or something?
Also, to Andrew: why don’t you just put a link on your website that goes directly to the Foxtrot website?
Comment by Felicia — November 15, 2003 @ 1:55 pmBecause, that’s not half as cool.
Comment by Andrew — November 15, 2003 @ 7:48 pmnice to see that even though we have all moved on to bigger things that we are all still 8 year olds looking at comics.
Comment by Ness — November 16, 2003 @ 6:56 pmNess! you’re back in the game!
Comment by Erin — November 17, 2003 @ 10:06 amWas looking to see if you could tell me how you did the comic get stuff or if I could get a hold of you code if you don’t mind. I have a friend who would like me to create a personal site for him and place some comics on it that stay up to date but not have to post them everyday.
Thanks,
