Nap Time

Posted by tvor @ 9:56 pm

It’s been a busy couple of days here. I headed to the airport on Sunday night at 9:00pm to meet my dad’s plane that was coming in from Vancouver at midnight. We were planning on taking the bus and subway back to the apartment but the buses had stopped running so we took a limo back instead.

Monday was spent working from home while taking in Vietnamese food for lunch at the Pho 88 and mid-Eastern food for supper at The Jerusalem Restaurant. Later that evening, my uncle, dad, and myself played a couple games of bowling at the 24 hour Bowlerama. It was the largest bowling alley I’ve ever seen. There were about 60 lanes, half of them 5 pin and the others being 10 pin. So I’ve been spending the last day trying to catch back up on sleep that I lost.

Tonight the Oilers are playing a must win game in Dallas. They are currently up 2-1 so hopefully they can keep that lead. It would be great to get all 6 Canadian teams into the playoffs.

N/A Challenge

Posted by tvor @ 10:12 pm

Wow, it’s been awhile since I last posted….well I guess one week isn’t all that long. Not much new happening. I was at work today from 8am-8pm. Fun times! I received my ticket for Seinfeld in the mail for the show in May. Also, less than 2 weeks before the hockey playoffs and baseball regular season start.

A certain someone has gone crazy reading my N/A message. Marsha read my N/A message 47 times, from 3:00pm-9:30pm today and took the overall lead in N/A reads with an overall total of 80. Anyone else up for the challenge? ;)

Bruins 2 - Leafs 1

Posted by tvor @ 11:48 pm

The Leafs played another pitiful game tonight versus Boston. They came out strong in the first period but the final two periods were almost too painful to watch. They had quite a few scoring opportunities which they didn’t take advantage of, in my opinion. If not for Belfour (and the posts), this game could have ended up much worse for the Leafs. Hopefully they will win the next time I see them live, whenever that might be.

When I arrived at the ACC I went to my seat, 16 rows into the upper level, and was surprised to see that the minister of my church was sitting just 2 rows behind me. I was able to get a drive home with him through the snowstorm, saving myself the 2 hour subway/bus commute and 10 minute walk.

The Ticket

Posted by tvor @ 9:22 pm

This morning I purchased a ticket to the opening show for Jerry Seinfeld at Massey Hall on May 7th. It should be a great time to see my favorite comedian in person. I’ve never gone to an actual stand-up comedy show before so this one should be awesome! I’ll be sitting 4 rows back in the balcony near the left of the stage.

Also, tomorrow night I head back to the ACC to see the Maple Leafs take on the Bruins. They had better win this time!

Foosball On Demand

Posted by tvor @ 2:25 pm

I added another item to the right menu yesterday entitled “Foosball Today.” This will include daily scores from foosball games that Sean and I play during our lunch and afternoon breaks. The scores are usually added around 1:00pm and 4:00pm, depending if we have had a chance to play any games.

Penguins 3 - Leafs 2

Posted by tvor @ 11:54 pm

Just got back from the ACC where I saw the Leafs lose in a game I was almost sure they would have won.

No question about it, Kidd lost the game for the Leafs tonight. He let in 2 goals on the first 3 shots of the hockey game and every save he made after was applauded and cheered by the 19,000 fans, in a show of sarcasm.

The Leafs played an overall good game outshooting the Penguins 46 to 17. The game came right down to the wire in the final minute where they had several chances where the puck was bouncing around in the crease.

Hopefully they can pull together a win on Tuesday night against Boston. From tonight’s experience that means starting Belfour.

Seinfeld Coming to Toronto

Posted by tvor @ 8:24 pm

I heard last week that Jerry Seinfeld was coming to Toronto in May to do a couple shows of his stand-up act. Unfortunately, I forgot to look for tickets until a few hours after they had gone on sale and they had sold out. However, they just added another show for May 7th. Here’s hoping that I can get some ticket(s) when they go on sale at 10am on Monday morning!

Here is what $8 looks like in Toronto. And here’s $101.
