Back-to-Back Weekends At Home
I haven’t written a lengthy post here for over a month, so hopefully this will be a sufficient for those of you who are still reading my blog.
During the Victoria Day long weekend, Andrew and I got away from Wolfville and headed to Riverview for some relaxing time away from our computers. We arrived late on Friday night which left us with little to do, so we just watched The Score on television. On Saturday, Andrew and I headed to the Champlain Mall where I was on a mission to buy season 4 of Seinfeld and also picked up some headphones and Battlefield 1942. Later in the afternoon, Andrew, my dad, and myself headed to an indoor go-cart track in Moncton for 30 minutes of racing. It was well worth the $32.
Later that evening, we had a home cooked meal at home and then got hooked on M*A*S*H and ended up watching about 6 hours of it on tv. Sunday morning was spent at church and then home for chinese food. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing watching more tv. Nothing much happened on Monday, except for heading back to Wolfville in the afternoon. Overall, it was quite a relaxing weekend which was good for a change.
I went back to Riverview this past weekend again, since it was the official opening and dedication of my home church, the Congregational Christian Church of Moncton. Saturday was spent at the church from 10:00am-6:00pm for the Atlantic Regional Rally and afterwards we went to Fisherman’s Paradise for some delicious broiled salmon.
On the way home, we stopped into Wal-Mart. While surveying the DVD section, I noticed the 1st season of M*A*S*H for only $17.82. It was half price of what the other seasons cost. From the previous weekend’s M*A*S*H experience, I decided to purchase it. Upon arriving at the checkout counter, it was scanned in as $37 but the price tag clearing said $17.82. After several minutes of verifying what the correct price should be, I got it for the tagged price, since someone made a mistake when pricing it. This now leaves me with 24 M*A*S*H, 24 Seinfeld, and a remaining 15 episodes of Arrested Development to watch. It should keep me plenty busy.
The official opening and dedication was on Sunday afternoon which had a big turnout of about 180 people at the church. Following the service, I came back to Wolfville…so here I am now.
