Getting Cultured with Picasso

Posted by tvor @ 2:18 am

Well there are a few small updates to announce since my last entry from earlier in the week. First off, I had an interview with a small software development company in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday morning which ended up lasting 2.5 hours. The interview included all of the regular questions such as “Give me an example when you showed leadership”, etc and an hour of technical questions and an OO design session. Overall I felt that it went very good but I’ll have to wait until next week before hearing back from them. I also received an invitation to write a technical test for another company in Vancouver on this upcoming Tuesday which I will have to start preparing myself for soon.

In other news, Sean, Julie, and myself went to the Vancouver Art Museum tonite where they had a Picasso Exhibit along with some art by Emily Carr. It was my first visit to an art gallery and it was quite interesting, although I didn’t quite “get” most of the art that I saw. Picasso had some very nice paintings along with some very detailed sketchings. It was interesting to see the actual brush strokes he took in his paintings and it felt like being part of history standing only a few feet away.

After leaving the Art Gallery, we stopped into Chapters and then came back home with a quick stop into A&W for a snack. Our time at A&W was rather amusing since there were a couple ladies arguing with the supervisor about being able to use the washroom. I’ll spare the details of that altercation, but you can read about it on Julie’s blog.
