Gordon Lightfoot Concert

Posted by tvor @ 3:49 pm

The 8 month wait ended this past Friday nite when Caitlin and I went to see Gordon Lightfoot. I had purchased the tickets back in February which left us with an 8 month wait for the concert… which was well worth it.

While waiting for the concert to begin, we were surveying the crowd and realized that we were one of the youngest couples there. The majority of the audience were 40+ and some even brought their young children to the show.

It was quite a tame concert and Gord played most of his classics including Sundown, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, and If You Could Read My Mind. He ended with the encore of Early Morning Rain and mentioned how Elvis Presley had covered it but changed some of the lyrics around.

Less than 4 weeks til we see the other old rockers in Vancouver!

  1. That sounds like my kind of music Trevor….tame and easy. Now as for those Rolling Stones….nah, not my type. But I hope you and Caitlin will have a fun time when you go to their concert. I never knew what that big red tongue stood for or where it came from until the Rolling Stones concert here in Moncton….now everywhere I go and see that symbol I know who it represents….Mick Jagger, correct! See what I know, eh?
